New Romney Town Council serves the residents of the Parish of New Romney. The Town Council's main role is to act in the interests of the parish and its residents by making decisions and recommendations that help to improve the local environment and the quality of life of local residents. The Council works in partnership with other organisations, as appropriate, including other tiers of Local Government as well as voluntary and community organisations.

Temporary Road Closures & 20mph speed limits

Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe, as per the schedule below. This Order takes effect on or after 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.
